Hey Canada! We should be proud…

Over the weeks and months leading up to and during the coronavirus pandemic, it’s been nice to see the true Canadian spirit living on loud and proud.

Over the past few weeks and months leading up to and during the COVID Pandemic 2020 (yes, we should name it, as there will be more), it is nice to know that there are Canadians helping Canadians.  True Canadian spirit lives on loud and proud.

As Canadians, we should be proud that Canada is taking control and no longer solely relying on others from across the globe for their products and services.

As Canadians, we should be proud that the Canadian Federal government is working with a domestic manufacturing facility to make N95 protective & surgical masks. We can fly, train, boat, truck these much-needed goods across our nation & divvy up accordingly. It’s time to think more about how to help Canadians and less about trade relations, tariffs, delays and political red tape from countries who cannot or will not deliver the goods they promised.

As Canadians, we should be proud that our political leaders at all levels understand the importance having “made-in-Canada solutions”, and that they are fighting for Canadian companies to take charge. Every day Canadian companies are sharing their stories, efforts & solutions and being recognized for their efforts of going the extra kilometer.

As Canadians, we should be proud of companies like AMJ Campbell – for using their moving trucks to carry medical supplies & food across the country where needed. Of companies like Labatt, who are putting people before profits and brewing hand sanitizer instead of beer. And the biggest thank you of all is reserved for the thousands of health care workers, and essential service people, who are manning the frontlines everyday so that we can stay healthy, safe and strong.

As Canadians, we should be proud that these companies are beginning to give us that “awww…..that feels good” warm and fuzzies on days when there seems to be nothing but never- ending COVID updates. And truth be told, we could all use a little bit more “aww-feel-good” moments in our lives these days.

To all you Canadian players out there, big and small – we’re watching with excitement to see what you’ll do next, how you will help us through this, and how you will make us even prouder of you than we already are.

Thank you, Canada, for making us proud.

Signed,

Proudly Canadian
