Great Customer Service Rules

Why great customer service is especially important today.

“Times are changing” and most businesses are struggling to keep up with the new norms.

No matter how great a company’s products, web presence and reputation, all it takes is a bad experience with customer service to poison the relationship.

Some important aspects of customer service:

1.Communication – timely and clear responses.  Make sure you communicate in a timely manner.  And that you respond in a clear and concise way.

2. Empathy – interaction with unhappy clients.  Tell your clients that you understand their situation.  Try to offer options that showcase that you value their business.

3. Patience – ability to repeat over if necessary until solved.  Practice various ways to repeat your message so that it can be understood or resolved in a professional manner.

4. Knowledge – smart knowledge with technical or helpful information.  Provide technical or additional helpful information without being prompted.  Go the extra mile.

5. Good Listening Skills – to help assist quickly.  Learn as much as you can and ask questions based on what you’ve heard.

After all isn’t it really great to get a friendly voice when you call, instead of those automated answers. Especially these days, if you’re going to be hearing a different voice, wouldn’t it be nice, if it was a really friendly, helpful one?
